One of the things I’ve been pondering while relaunching this site is the practicality of reading long text – specifically, pieces that have been written primarily for print and reproduced online – in a web page. Although I’ve used excerpts to prevent multi-post pages continuing downwards to the centre of the Earth, I’ve made the decision to embrace the need to scroll (have you seen the depth of that header?) rather than try to avoid it, but not without some nagging doubts.
So I was reassured to find this Wired piece by Neal ‘Snow Crash’ Stephenson, which is continued over an RSI-inducing 56 pages. Heh.
