Clarity and authority were the essentials here, but it was also important to make the book visually engaging; reading about operating systems can get just a tad dry, after all. With care and creativity, even an annotated screenshot or a page of keyboard shortcuts can look attractive.
I templated and designed the 160pp book (including the covers), subedited all the copy (with additional research and writing where required) and supplied press-ready CMYK InDesign CS3 files for output to PDF. The editor was Tim Danton and production was by the indefatigable team at PC Pro.
